Just sent this to the freakin’ White House

Didn’t really want to post this on Facebook due to the drama that would ensue but I also wanted to share this letter. So Tumblr it is, I guess!

ATTN: President Barack Obama (if possible!)

Dear President Obama,

I just wanted to thank you for showing an ample amount of understanding, bravery and humanity yesterday, when you admitted to believing that gay couples should have the right to marry. A lot of politicians do not have your courage, which was one of the reasons why I voted for you. Thank you for affirming my vote. We need more politicians like you who do not back down to lobbyist bullies in Washington. We need more politicians like you who think about the country first and our needs, our worries, our way of life, before yours.

The only thing I ask is that you continue to fight for social justice and never stop. Keep fighting for this human right that every tax payer should be entitled to. I know you must get political threats all the time in order to keep you from stating what you feel is right. Please don’t give in to them. Please know that even though you might be around negativity and selfishness in Washington, there are millions of Americans across the country who have your back and are also willing to fight with you. You aren’t alone. You have the American people to protest this injustice with you. So when politicians try to browbeat you or persuade you to be quiet, please think of us and know that your voice and your influence could change this country for the better.

Also, this probably goes without saying, but I will be happily voting for you this November.
